Nigerian fast-rising afrobeat singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has revealed that he wants to make music with billionaire American rapper Kanye West.
In an interview with Billboard News, Asake said he likes to work with artists he connects with and feels comfortable around, as he values real energy and synergy in his collaborations.
“I have been saying this thing since; maybe God will do it. I will like to work with Kanye [West].”
“For me, I need to like the person before I can make music with you,” he said. “I need to be comfortable with you. Not even because of the music alone.
“I’m not saying I can’t make music with other people but I like real energy. If you like me beyond the music, it’s good. But I need to connect with your music, I need to like the person I want to work with first so it won’t be a problem for me. There must be synergy.

Asake also discussed the growth of the afrobeat genre, comparing it to watching a baby grow. He believes that afro beats will be even bigger in a few years.
“You know, you feel good when you have something around you and the thing is growing,” he said.
“In a couple of years, it [afrobeats] will be bigger.” he said
Asake is one of the most popular afrobeat artists in the world today. His music is known for its catchy melodies and infectious energy.
