Singer and songwriter Bukola Elemide, popularly known as Asa, has announced the death of her mother.
The ‘Femi Mo’ crooner disclosed this in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday, sharing several photos of her late mother.
In the post, Asa described her mother as her “reason to be,” while revealing that she died after a sudden brain tumour.
“My mother, my reason to be, my queen, my everything. A sudden brain tumor came without warning and took you too soon,” she wrote.
The singer also remembered her mother as a generous and kind woman who supported her deeply.
“You were generous. The kindest soul. You had your own quiet swag, you were extremely shy, and so funny. My biggest fan,” she added.
Recalling her mother’s love for her music, Asa stated that although she could not sing, she still sang all her songs wholeheartedly.
“You couldn’t hold a note to save your life, but you sang every one of my songs with your whole heart,” she wrote.
She ended the tribute by saying, “Your strength, your love, your spirit will remain with me forever. Rest now, Mum.”
