Arsenal to rebuild ‘from Championship if they don’t do something soon’ – Agbonlahor
Former Aston Villa star, Gabriel Agbonlahor, has warned that Arsenal could be relegated from the top flight if they don’t do something soon.
This comes after the 2-1 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, their eighth consecutive loss in the Premier League.
Speaking to Talk Sport, Agbonlahor: “It’s serious now. At first, everyone was laughing at Arsenal and how they are struggling and in a relegation battle.
“I actually do think they are now. The way they are playing, they are not showing confidence and it’s even more worrying when the manager comes out after the game and says that they’ve been the better team in the last few games and just not getting the results.
“At the start of the season, it was promising for Arsenal with the signings they made and these games now when they are losing, if they don’t make a change soon it can’t be ‘okay we are going to give Arteta some time, he’s going to build’.
“You are going to be building from the Championship if they don’t do something soon because next up is Chelsea and I fancy them to give Arsenal a good beating at the Emirates on Boxing Day.
“It’s got to change because when you look at the table I think if Burnley win their two games in hand they will go above Arsenal and if Brighton win and Burnley do then they’ll be 17th, once place behind the relegation zone.”
Mikel Arteta’s Gunners who have just four wins from 14 matches are 15th on 14 points and could drop farther down to the hot zone if they do not begin to win matches soon.
