Arsenal suffer top-four blow after Newcastle defeat

Arsenal have suffered a big blow in their quest for a top-four finish after a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Monday night.
The Gunners placed themselves in a comfortable position to make next season’s Champions League when they defeated Chelsea and Manchester United back-to-back.
However, Mikel Arteta’s men relinquished the fourth position to Antonio Conte’s men after a consecutive defeat to Tottenham and The Magpies within four days.
Ben White’s 56th-minute own goal gave Eddie Howe’s side the all-important lead before Bruno Guimarães dashed Arsenal’s hope with a second in the 85th minute.
Arsenal now face a tough task against relegation-threatened Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday for their final game of the season.
Spurs, on the other hand, go into their last game against already relegated Norwich with a two-point lead and a UCL qualification theirs to lose.
Conte’s men need only a draw against Norwich to cement their place in next season’s UCL.
