Arsenal suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers after a nervy 90-minute encounter at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night.
The game kicked off with a scare after Raul Jimenez and David Luis were involved in a horrific head collision in the first half.
Jiminez had to be stretched off to a hospital while Luis who continued with a blood-soaked bandage was substituted at the end of the first half.
After much end to end stuff from both teams as the game continued, the Emirates lit up in the 27the minute when Wolves drew the first blood.
A superb cross from Adama Traore found the head of Leander Dendoncker who struck the woodwork with a powerful header but the ball fell back to Pedro Neto who sweeps it home off Arsenal’s Gabriel Saliba to find the back of the net.
Mikel Arteta’s men fought back to level things up quickly three minutes late through a corner kick as summer signing Gabriel bagged his second goal of the season.
Arsenal took a short corner kick and Willian sends the cross in from the right as Gabriel rose high to power a header past Rui Patricio to put the scores at 1-1.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, however, regained the lead in the second after a powerful counter-attack ended with the ball in the Arsenal net.
Traore found Neto after Wolve’s quick-taken free-kick. Leno spills Neto’s shot from outside the box and Podence latches onto it near the penalty spot, bundling into the empty net to male it 2-1 in the 42nd minute.
Arsenal have now lost a third consecutive match at home in the Premier League as Wolves mark their first-ever win against the Gunners since 1979.
