The Nigerian Army has announced that it will deploy 6,195 new soldiers across the country to boost security and strengthen its operations.
These soldiers are part of the 88 Regular Recruit Intake, who began their training at the Nigerian Army Depot in Zaria on January 13. After six months of intense military training, they are now ready for full deployment.
According to official reports, 6,450 candidates started the training in January, but 255 of them were unable to complete it.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, is expected to serve as the reviewing officer at the passing-out parade, which will mark the official end of their training.
The fresh recruits will be posted to different parts of the country, including areas where the military is carrying out key operations. They are expected to help tackle the growing security challenges facing the nation.
Army authorities also revealed that the new soldiers will go through more special training to help them work better in their assigned roles.
The deployment of these new combatants is seen as a major step in strengthening the army’s efforts in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other forms of insecurity.
The Nigerian Army said it remains committed to ensuring the safety of citizens and the peace of the country through improved manpower and professional training.
