The Nigerian Army Infantry Corps has kicked off its annual leadership lecture in Kaduna.
A statement issued on Tuesday in Kaduna by the acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations Headquarters, Infantry Corps Centre, Capt Akinola Ajibola, said that the lecture was held at Ihejirika auditorium, Jaji, Kaduna.
The Commander, Infantry Corps Centre, Maj.-Gen. Stevenson Olabanji, while declaring the lecture open, urged the participants to learn from their predecessors and improve on it.
Olabanji said the leadership style of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai had continued to add value to the service in the area of mentoring the next generation of leaders on professionalism and efficiency in command and administrative positions.
According to him, the lecture, which is the second edition of its kind, is aimed at equipping middle and junior level commanders for present and future responsibilities.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Maj.-Gen. Victor Ezugwu, Director-General, Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria and the Commandant, Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peace-keeping Centre, Maj.-Gen. James Ataguba, were resource persons at the event.
NAN also reports that the event featured an interactive lecture, which afforded the participants the opportunity to increase their capabilities.
Also present at the mentorship lecture were the Commandant, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Liman and the Commandant, Nigeria Army School of Infantry, Maj.-Gen. Kelvin Aligbe, among other senior officers.
