Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has reassured residents of Arepo that the proposed Primary Healthcare Centre for the community would be ready in three months.
Abiodun made the promise during the inspection of ongoing reconstruction on the popular Journalists Estate Road in Arepo.
His reassurance was in response to the request of Chairman, Journalists Estate Phase 1, Olufunke Fadugba.
The governor believed that the health facility when completed would assuage the pains of Arepo Residents who either have to visit Lagos or Ibafo at times of emergencies to access healthcare.
Fadugba while addressing the Governor appreciates the decision to reconstruct the Journalists Road which for eight years had Ogun Government signpost on the site without serious activities.
She also appealed that to the state government to adequately compensate journalists whose buildings would be affected.
Abiodun, however, reassured that the State Executive Council had at its weekly meeting discussed the issue of compensation and construction of a healthcare centre to be sited close to the Journalists Estate Gate.
According to the Governor, “the issue of compensation has been built into the contract”.
Meanwhile chairman of Arepo Area Community Development Committee, Ganiyu Kazeem made a passionate appeal to the State to consider the security and safety of the Long Bridge.
“All the communities around the Long Bridge from Warewa to Magboro, 10 in all, contribute over N300,000 monthly to safeguard the Long bridge. This is huge yet, it is not sufficient as Long bridge would require government attention to deploy Amotekun men because of incessant robbery and kidnappings”, he told journalists.
