Aquaman 2 ‘is just on a whole other level’ – Jason Mamoa

Aquaman actor, Jason Mamoa, has hinted fans of the superhero movie about what to expect in the second installment – Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.

Mamoa who was the star act of the 2018 half-human, half-Atlantean movie (Aquaman) directed by made the discloure during a new interview with Fandango.

Digital Spy reports that the James Wan-directed follow-up which has a release date of December 16, 2022, will feature Mamoa who will be joined on screen by fellow returning players Amber Heard (as Mera), Patrick Wilson (as Aquaman/Arthur Curry’s half-brother Orm) and Candyman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (as the vengeful David Kane/Black Manta).

The Game of Thrones actor said the sequel has crazy action, high stakes and… “a lot of comedy” too.

“This time around, I feel like [we’re] pulling out all the stops,” he explained. “We all learned something one the first one. It’s exciting because I haven’t made too many sequels, even on the page, it was absolutely wonderful. There is so much going on.

“I mean, I giggled reading it. There’s a lot of fun. There’s a lot more heart, there’s a lot more risk. In the last three or four years, technology has just… constantly… It’s just moving at such a rapid pace that what we’re doing with [the] underwater [scenes] is just on a whole other level.”
