APP unveils ward-level membership registration in Imo

The Imo State chapter of the Action Peoples Party has begun a statewide membership registration exercise across all 305 wards as part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued by the party’s spokesperson, Cajethan Duke, the initiative was described as a strategic step toward strengthening the party’s grassroots structure and expanding its presence across the state.

Duke noted that the decision was approved by the Interim State Executive Committee led by Ernest Njesi, who formally announced that the registration would commence on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

The spokesperson further stated that the exercise—strictly a physical registration process—represents a major milestone in the party’s push to reposition Imo State for the collective good of its people.

According to him, “In view of the foregoing and in line with provisions of the party’s constitution, the Interim State Executive Committee has approved the composition of local government area membership registration committees and the appointment of ward anchor persons across the State.

The full list of LGA registration committees and ward anchor persons will be published in due course.”

Duke also urged residents to take part in the exercise, saying, “We therefore urge all eligible citizens to register and align themselves with APP’s vision of delivering the State from economic doldrum.”
