The All Progressives Congress has fixed July 24, 2025, for its National Executive Council meeting where a new national chairman will be selected.
The announcement came after an emergency meeting held on Monday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja. Festus Fuanter, the Deputy National Secretary who led the session, confirmed that the party had officially informed the Independent National Electoral Commission about the meeting.
The need to replace the chairman followed the recent resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje, who stepped down after nearly two years in office. Ganduje became APC chairman in August 2023, succeeding Abdullahi Adamu.
Ali Bukar Dalori, who was the Deputy National Chairman (North), has now taken over as acting national chairman. He resumed duty on Monday and promised to lead the party with transparency and unity.
“We must remain focused on our main goal, which is delivering good governance to Nigerians and strengthening internal democracy within the APC,” Dalori said.
He urged party members to support the leadership and keep the party strong ahead of the 2027 general elections.
