The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has raised alarm over the continued absence of Governor Ademola Adeleke, claiming he has not been seen for over two weeks.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, said the governor’s disappearance was suspicious and unacceptable, especially without any official notice to the people.

“It is not normal for a state governor to abandon his duties and disappear without any official communication to the citizens,” Olabisi said.

The party claimed Adeleke vanished shortly after an alleged failed attempt to join the APC and described his absence as part of a troubling pattern.

Olabisi recalled a similar episode early in Adeleke’s administration, where the governor was reportedly out of the country for medical reasons with no clarity on his location until much later. “At that time, conflicting reports emerged, some claimed he was in the United States, others said the United Kingdom, before it was later revealed that he had travelled to Thailand for medical treatment,” he added.

He said it was disrespectful for the governor to leave without informing the people and warned that the lack of transparency raised questions about how the state is being run.

“Osun State is not a limited liability company where the owner is at liberty to leave the company at will without the knowledge of the people,” he said. “We as a party need to know the whereabouts of the governor and who has been holding fort for him during his absence.”

The APC urged Adeleke’s media aides to speak up and inform citizens about where the governor is and why he left without notice.
