The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress has inaugurated a committee to mediate between Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Friday led the inauguration of the nine-man committee to champion the mediation
The committee is chaired by former Katsina Governor Bello Masari.
Ganduje said the committee aimed to ensure a harmonious working relationship between the governor and his deputy.
He also said he was confident that the committee members had the relevant experience and knowledge to handle the issue.
“To meet and discuss with all the parties involved and gather facts and circumstances surrounding the impeachment process of the Ondo State Deputy Governor.
“To advise the Party on the best ways of resolving the issues that led to the impeachment process of Ondo State Deputy Governor.
“To make necessary recommendations to the Party on how to settle the issue and any other matter that may arise during the assignment.
“The Committee has one week after its inauguration to submit its recommendation.” Ganduje said while speaking on the task of the committee.
The committee chairman, Masari assured that their intervention would solve the issue peacefully between the governor and his deputy.
Other committee members are Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Oyetola, Sen Gyado, Almakura, Elechi, Elechi and Abubakar.
