The All Progressives Congress has announced March 2026 as the date for its national convention.

In a statement released on Saturday, the ruling party unveiled a detailed timetable for its 2025/2026 ward, local government, state and zonal congresses, which will culminate in the national convention.

The schedule, signed by the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, indicated that the exercise is being carried out in line with Articles 11 and 17 of the party’s constitution and is intended to facilitate the election of party officials at all levels nationwide.

According to the timetable, the process will commence with the launch of a nationwide membership e-registration exercise on December 1, 2025, which is expected to run until January 30, 2026.
This will be followed by the issuance of formal notices of congresses to state chapters and the Federal Capital Territory on February 2, 2026.

The party disclosed that the sale and submission of nomination forms for ward and local government area congresses will take place between February 4 and February 9, 2026.
It further stated that screening committees for ward and local government positions will be inaugurated on February 10, while the screening of aspirants will be conducted from February 11 to February 13.

Ward congresses have been scheduled for February 18, 2026, with appeals arising from the exercise to be heard the following day, February 19.

Local government congresses, which will include the election of three delegates—one of whom must be female—to the national convention, are slated for February 20, while appeals from the exercise will be handled on February 21.

At the state level, the timetable noted that the purchase of nomination forms for state executive positions will take place earlier, from February 23 to February 27, 2025. Screening and appeals for state executives are scheduled for late February and early March 2026, while state congresses will hold on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Appeals arising from the state congresses will be entertained between March 9 and March 11.

Thereafter, activities will shift to the zonal level, with the purchase and submission of forms for zonal congresses and the national convention fixed for March 12 to March 17, 2026.

The party stated that zonal congress committees will be inaugurated on March 18, followed by the screening of aspirants on March 19 and 20.
Zonal congresses across the six geopolitical zones are scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The designated venues are Ibadan for the South West, Enugu for the South East, Rivers/Cross River for the South South, Kaduna for the North West, Gombe/Bauchi for the North East, and Nasarawa for the North Central. Appeals from the zonal congresses will be heard on March 23.

The timetable further showed that the APC National Convention is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
