The All Progressives Congress has issued a strong demand for social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, to issue an apology within seven days for his recent remarks regarding Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The comments in question were made in a viral video in which VeryDarkMan criticized Akpabio’s decision to attend the Pope’s funeral in Rome while insecurity continues to escalate in Nigeria.
VeryDarkMan voiced his concerns over the Senate President’s international trip amidst growing violence in several states, including Benue, Plateau, Kwara, Ogun, and Enugu. He argued that Akpabio’s attention should be focused on addressing the humanitarian crisis in these regions rather than attending an overseas event.
He further questioned Akpabio’s moral stance, suggesting that the Senate President’s presence would be more beneficial if directed toward offering support and condolences to communities devastated by the ongoing violence.
In response, the South-South Zonal chapter of the APC strongly condemned VeryDarkMan’s comments, labeling them disrespectful and unacceptable.
The party has given the influencer a strict seven-day deadline to apologize to Akpabio for his remarks.
