Nollywood actress Annie Idibia has been seen in public for the first time since her estranged husband, music legend 2Baba, confirmed their separation.
She visited actress Regina Daniels and her family, marking her first major outing since the announcement of the split.
Annie had previously taken a break from social media but returned recently, clearing her Instagram page of past posts. In a message to her supporters, she expressed gratitude, notably signing off without using “Idibia” in her name.
“To my family, to my friends who came through for me, the support system I have now, all my amazing family here and all over the world, God bless you for the outpouring of love,” she wrote.
“I appreciate every single one of you, and I do not take any of it for granted. May the universe continue to be in your favor. God bless you all. Lots of love, Annie Uwana Macaulay.”
Meanwhile, 2Baba, who had been married to Annie for 12 years, appears to be moving on. In a statement, he addressed speculations about his relationship with Honorable Natasha Osawuru.
“Everybody is going to be alright, and everyone is fine. There is no fight or quarrel, I said what I said,” the singer stated.
“Honourable Natasha has been called names and labeled a home breaker. She is a young, brilliant, and amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what’s happening to my marriage to Annie. But I see people trying to rope her into everything. Yes, I love her. She’s amazing and cool, and I want to marry her.”
Annie and 2Baba’s marriage, which began in 2012, had faced public scrutiny over the years. While neither has officially addressed the singer’s new relationship, both seem to be moving forward separately.
Many fans reacted to Annie’s public appearance and visit to Regina Daniels, with some showing support for her.
Tosin Silverdam commented, “Annie Idibia seen in public for the first time visiting actress Regina Daniels and her family. She looks so good, I’m so happy for her.”
Preshsweets21 wrote, “Regina Daniels actually has the purest heart in Nollywood. Have you wondered why her fellow celebrities like her? Because she’s always there for everyone. I don’t need to be told she was there for Annie during her hard times.”
Ladyjoy Oyoyo noted, “She looks healthier and better now.”
Meanwhile, some users had different opinions. Elohornwa questioned, “What is all the hug for nah? If she still dey married una go dey hug her like this?”
Others defended Annie. Shugar Sauce responded, “Now she’s single without ties to any he goat, she can hug as many as possible.”
Many supporters wished Annie well in her next chapter, with Foriegn Apple writing, “Welcome back, my sister. Everyone in Akwa Ibom supports your happiness.”
