Anambra Election: Apathy as electoral agents conduct house-to-house mobilisation
Electoral agents in Anambra State have commenced a house to house mobilisation campaign to tackle voters’ apathy.
This development was observed at the Nkwo Market Square in Akwa Central area of the State where some polling boots were reportedly empty.
Some other polling units had few voters on the queue waiting to cast their votes.
According to an APGA agent, Joseph Nnake, many voters refused to turn up because of fear.
He stated that they had to visit neighbouring homes to urge them to come out and exercise their civic right.
Nnake also said the low turnout may work against the success of the election.
He, however, noted that the election is peaceful as everyone involved are doing their jobs to deliver a free, fair and credible election.
