The Osun State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, has arrested three persons for allegedly stealing goats in Ile-Orangun town, located in Ila-Orangun Local Government Area of the state.

The Commander of the corps, Adekunle Omoyele, disclosed in a statement on Friday that two of the suspects are from Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State, while the third is a resident of Ile-Orangun.

He said investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in the theft of 97 goats within Ila-Orangun town.

“The arrest of the suspects followed a complaint lodged by residents of Ila-Orangun over the persistent disappearance of goats in the community.
“After the report was made, Amotekun operatives apprehended the suspects, after diligent surveillance.

“The suspects were caught in the act when they returned to the town on Wednesday night, Dec. 31, to steal more goats,” he said.

Omoyele further disclosed that the suspects confessed to stealing goats in the town on eight different occasions, adding that the animals were sold to their leader based in Ado-Ekiti for ₦20,000 each.

The Amotekun commander urged residents of Osun State to continue cooperating with the corps by remaining vigilant and promptly reporting suspicious activities or security threats in their communities.

He assured the public of the agency’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that criminals would have no hiding place in the state.
