A well known burglar, Ajibola Lateef, has been captured by members of the Western Security Network, Amotekun, Osun State Chapter, on Monday in Asamu, Ola-Oluwa Local Government Area of the state.
According to an Amotekun personnel in his address to newsmen, Lateef had been terrorizing Asamu and Telemu, two towns in the Local Government, with charms and other hazardous weapons.
He was apprehended after residents of Asamu town contacted the security team just as he was about to commit another heinous crime.
When contacted, the Field Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Amitolu Shittu, confirmed Lateef’s arrest, adding that during interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime.
Amitolu also revealed that the suspects had been handed over to the Ola-Oluwa Police Division which is investigating the crime.
According to Amitolu, “He was arrested by the operatives of Amotekun after a distress call was made by residents of the town.”
Amitolu explained that he confessed to terrorising the two towns armed with charms and dangerous weapons.
