Amos Dangut appointed new WAEC boss

Dr. Amos Josiah Dangut has been appointed as the new Head of the Nigeria National Office of the West African Examinations Council.
He takes over from Patrick Areghan, whose tenure has come to an end this month.
Dangut has over 25 years of experience in the education sector, having served in various capacities at WAEC since 1998.
He began his career as an Assistant Registrar II and steadily progressed through the ranks, achieving the position of Deputy Registrar in April 2018.
In his previous role, Dangut was commended by the Nigeria Examinations Committee for his transparent conduct of examinations between 2000 and 2006.
He also served as an Assistant Registrar/Subject Officer, Test Development Division, WAEC, Lagos (July 1998 – January 2005); Senior Assistant Registrar/Head of Examinations Security and Deputy to the Branch Controller, Uyo Branch Office (January 2005 – January 2008); Senior Assistant Registrar/Head of Examinations Security and Deputy to the Branch Controller, Bauchi Branch Office (January 2008 – December 2011); Senior Assistant Registrar/Branch Controller, Yola Branch office (December 2011 – January 2019); Deputy Registrar/Controller, Post Examinations Department (January 2019 – October, 2020); Deputy Registrar/Zonal Coordinator, Ikeja Zonal Office.
Dangut was commended by the Nigeria Examinations Committee for his transparent conduct of examinations between 2000 and 2006.
He is also an astute scholar with various educational publications in international and national journals. He has also presented numerous keynotes and other papers at international and national conferences/fora.
Dangut is expected to bring his wealth of experience and expertise to bear in his new role as Head of the Nigeria National Office of WAEC.
