America’s Got Talent star, Jane ‘Nightbirde’ Marczewski, is dead.
She died aged 31.
The talented musician, who came to fame on season 16 of the talent show, died on Sunday after a battling with cancer.
A source confirmed the sad news to TMZ and further explained that she was receiving treatment for cancer, which had spread to her lungs, spine and liver.
Howie Mandel led tributes to the late contestant on Twitter.
He said: ‘@_nightbirde was such a bright inspirational light in all our lives. We must continue to live and learn from her words and lyrics.
‘As much as I feel horribly about her passing I feel lucky to to have met, heard and known her.’
Nightbirde first made headlines with her stunning performance at America’s Got Talent audition last year.
The song which earned her a golden buzzer from Simon Cowell was an original track, titled ‘It’s Okay.’
‘Last time I checked, I had some cancer in my lungs, spine and my liver,’ she told the panel at the time.
‘It’s important that everyone knows I’m so much more than the bad things that happened to me.
‘I have a 2% chance of survival but 2% is not 0% – 2% is something and I wish people knew how amazing it is.’
