American singer and songwriter, Solána Imani Rowe, fondly called ‘SZA’ has adopted an Igbo name’ as her Instagram name.
The 29-year-old Grammy-nominated songstress who obviously likes the Igbo name boldly displayed “Amarachi Chinonso” as her IG name.
The new development which has garnered divergent views comes as a surprise to her over 5.6m followers.
Amarachi in Igbo language means “God’s grace” while Chinonso means, “God is close.”
SZA was born on November 8, 1989, in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Maplewood, New Jersey.
WuzupNaija reports that she performed at the Dreamville festival — a concert which also featured Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Davido.
Her father was an executive producer at CNN, while her mother was an executive at AT&T. SZA was born to African American parents, a Christian mother and a Muslim father.
SZA earned four Grammy nominations with her debut album, ‘Ctrl’ which was certified platinum. She has written songs for award-winning female artists like Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.
The songstress is also set to team up with Travis Scott and a host of artists for ‘The Throne’ a track inspired by ‘Game of Thrones, popular HBO series.
