Legendary American singer Billy Joel has canceled all his upcoming concerts following a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, a condition involving the buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the skull that places pressure on the brain.

This neurological disorder can affect hearing, vision, and balance—symptoms that have reportedly worsened for the 76-year-old artist in recent weeks.

The announcement was made in a statement shared by Joel’s management team on Friday via his official Instagram account.

They explained that recent performances had intensified his condition, leading his doctors to recommend immediate cessation of all touring activities and focus on a recovery plan centered on physical therapy.

“Billy Joel has announced that he will be cancelling all scheduled concerts following a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (PH),” the statement reads.

“This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance.

“Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.”

The message also conveyed Joel’s appreciation for the support he has received and reaffirmed his commitment to healing.

“Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health.

“He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.”

Fans who had purchased tickets for the now-canceled concerts—initially slated to run from April 26 to July 3 across Europe and the United States—will receive automatic refunds.

“You don’t need to take any action to receive your refund. It will be automatically processed back to the original payment used for the purchase.
“Please be aware that the refund will go to the original purchaser if the tickets were transferred to you,” the statement added.

Joel, a six-time Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, has not indicated when he might return to the stage. For now, he is focused on his health and recovery.
