American actress, Emma Roberts has tied the knot with fellow actor Cody John in a private wedding ceremony held on Saturday in Idaho.
According to Vogue magazine, the 35-year-old actress, who is the daughter of actor Eric Roberts and niece of Hollywood star Julia Roberts, exchanged vows with John after the couple announced their engagement last year.
Speaking to the publication during a fitting for her off-white Monique Lhuillier wedding gown, Roberts reflected on the difference between wearing bridal dresses for film roles and preparing for her own wedding.
She said: “I’ve been married in a movie before, and I tried out wedding dresses for that, which feels so weird. So now, it’s the real deal.”
The actress explained that she wanted her wedding attire to reflect her personal style, drawing inspiration from vintage fashion and her passion for collecting antiques.
Of the outfit, she added: “I didn’t really know what I wanted, I just knew that I wanted it to feel very vintage-inspired.
“I’m obsessed with antique books and treasure hunting, and I love collecting old ephemera, so I really wanted that to shine through in the dress.”
Roberts also revealed that while her husband was not particular about what she wore, he was especially fond of her wedding gown.
She said John “wouldn’t care if I wore jeans”, but would “definitely die” for the dress.
The actress reportedly changed into a black Monique Lhuillier dress for the wedding reception.
Before her marriage, Roberts was in a relationship with actor and musician Garrett Hedlund from 2019 to 2022. The former couple share one child together.
Roberts and John began dating in 2022 before announcing their engagement on Instagram in 2024. The post featured the pair smiling with their arms around each other as Roberts displayed her engagement ring.
Over the years, Roberts has built a successful acting career with roles in several seasons of American Horror Story, including Coven, Freak Show, Cult, Apocalypse, 1984 and Delicate. She is also expected to return for the series’ 13th season later this year.
Beyond television, she has starred in films including Nancy Drew (2007), Scream 4 (2011) and We’re the Millers (2013).
John is known for his performances in television series such as Wu-Tang: An American Saga and In the Dark.
