Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari has received an unusual award in Belgium where she went to deliver a keynote address on ‘Women’s Role In Global Security’.
The Nigerian leader’s wife who has been in the news of late for different reasons, certainly got this one right as she was awarded by the Belgian deputy prime minister and minister of foreign European affair, Didier Reynders.

Before the event, she had shared pictures of her and her entourage boarding a train to the venue even as she was being criticised for wearing a N1.2million worth of outfit at a time the country is battling recession.

The president’s wife seemed to have developed a thick skin for all those criticisms as she did not make any attempt to reply the comments directed at her by Nigerians.

But after delivering her speech in Belgium, Mrs Buhari showed her gratitude to Nigerians by dedicating the award to Nigerian military men and women who have lost their lives at the war front battling to restore peace.
