A touching video of one young boy who was battered by his father has recently surfaced online.
The video revealed the plight of a ten-year-old boy, identified as Lukman who was severely beaten and made to sit down in a local fire place by his father for allegedly stealing in Ibadan.
The father, identified as Yaya Babarinde, a cobbler confessed to punishing his son by tying him up and making him sit down in the fire place, although he claimed he didn’t know it was hot in there.
The mother of the boy who is no longer with the father was also interviewed in the video uploaded by Hot Naija video.
When Lukman was taken to the hospital, his abusive father didn’t have money to pay for the treatment required. Yahya later begged the anchor of the program not to hand him over to the police.
It is unclear where the incident exactly took place and when it was. But it is clear that the interviewer in the video is offering some form of intervention already.
