Alleged defilement: Baba Ijesha hires two SANs, six legal counsels

Alleged child molester and Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka known also as Baba Ijesha is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that he gets a fair hearing in court.

The dark-skinned comic act turned up at the Ikeja Special Offences Court on Thursday with two Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) for his trials.

The proceedings, which began at 11.01am witnessed what may pass for a show of power when the two SANs, Dada Awosika (SAN) and Babatunde Ogala, representing Baba Ijesa announced their appearance before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo during Thursday’s proceedings.

The senior lawyers announced an appearance with a team of six junior counsels to represent Baba Ijesha in his defence.

Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mrs Olayinka Adeyemi, led the prosecution for the state.

In the same vein, popular comedian, Ms Damilola Adekoya aka Princess, whose 14-year-old foster daughter, Baba Ijesha allegedly molested, was also present in court for proceedings.

She was said to have arrived at 8.52 am.

The accused ally and professional colleague, Yomi Fabiyi, on the other hand, an appearance in the courtroom at 9.49 am.
