Akpabio pushes for reconciliation among A’Ibom APC members

Published

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has expressed his determination to secure victory for the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 governorship election in Akwa Ibom state.

He emphasized the urgency of initiating reconciliation within the party, stressing the importance of unity for favorable electoral outcomes in the 2027 general elections.

During a Stakeholders’ Meeting in Uyo on Friday, Akpabio instructed the chairman of the APC in Akwa Ibom, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, to establish a reconciliation committee to address internal conflicts within the party.

He outlined his commitment to unify the party, positioning it to assume governance in the state in 2027.

Akpabio expressed intolerance for members simultaneously affiliated with another party, asserting the need for clear party allegiance.

He underscored the resolution of all internal issues within the APC and emphasized the establishment of a united front, stating, “A situation where someone will be in one party and be working for another party will not be tolerated. We will make sure that APC in Akwa Ibom State is one, we will give people the option that either you belong to us or to them. There should not be any in-between. We are going to resolve all the issues in APC and also advise some people you can’t be here and there.

“I have mandated the chairman of the party to set up a reconciliation committee in the state, we have to bring our members together. If we are united, there is no barrier that we can not break.

“I pray against confusion among my leaders not in Uyo alone, but in all the senatorial districts. We must reconcile among ourselves.”
