BAFTA organisers released the majority of the 2021 short film nominees online this weekend, ahead of the 74th edition of the awards ceremony.
The Nigerian duo made the cut for the category with their 2020 short film titled ‘Lizard’ – the story of an 8-year-old girl with an ability to sense danger gets ejected from Sunday school service. She unwittingly witnesses the underbelly in and around a Mega Church in Lagos.
Lizard will slug it out with four other short films in the category as BAFTA, for the first time, turned straight to YouTube to release the nominated films online for free though not all of the contenders have been made available, presumably due to rights reasons, but all but two can now be streamed.
The winners of the category would be unveiled on Saturday 10th April at 8pm, when the BAFTA hosts its first of two-part celebration.
