Akeredolu tests negative to Coronavirus

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Thursday tested negative to the deadly Coronavirus disease.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, confirmed this, saying

“The result is negative, I can confirm that. The governor has even confirmed it himself on his Twitter handle, that his corona virus test has come out negative.

The post on the governor’s Twitter account states,

  1. “Good morning sir.  The result is negative.  Congratulations your  Excellency”
  2. “I just received the above text from the Commissioner for Health regarding my #Covid19 test results. We give all glory to God.  Wish everyone affected speedy recovery.”

Adegbenro further explained that the test conducted for the governor lasted for 48 hours and the result came out on Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ondo Sector Command has called on all motorists in the state to desist from overloading of passengers and goods.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Ondo State Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Rotimi Adeleye on Thursday.

The statement read in part,

“Drivers are to ensure that only one passenger occupies the front seat and not more than three people at the rear in order to avoid body contacts.

“However, drivers and passengers are also enjoined to make use of nose mask, hand sanitizers and washing of hands regularly in order to curtail the spread of Coronavirus. Vehicle owners and drivers are enjoined to always sanitize and disinfects their vehicles often.”
