The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has given his approval for the implementation of a Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy designed to cover all personnel of the Nigerian Air Force.

This decision aligns with the Command Philosophy of the CAS, emphasizing the importance of “Maintaining a highly motivated force by enhancing welfare and infrastructural renewal.”

The announcement was made through a statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF, Edward Gabkwet, on Wednesday in Abuja.

The statement highlighted that while existing insurance policies administered by the Ministry of Defence and NAF Investment Ltd. cover all NAF personnel, they fall short of adequately addressing the hazardous challenges encountered during their careers.

Recognizing the unique risks faced by NAF personnel, the Chief of the Air Staff emphasized the necessity of a specialized insurance scheme tailored to address these challenges.

The GPAIP aims to provide adequate coverage for personnel in the event of disability or death resulting from military operations or any form of accident.

Abubakar underscored the importance of ensuring the welfare of NAF personnel, stating that it aligns with his command philosophy and contributes significantly to maintaining a high level of morale and professionalism within the force.
