Super Eagles captain and new General Manager of Kano Pillars, Ahmed Musa, has promised to return the club to its former glory and make it a top football team not just in Nigeria, but across the world.
Musa made this promise on Monday during a meeting with the club’s Chairman, Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar, and other board members. He said the time had come for serious work to take the club forward.
“Kano Pillars is our club and one of the most successful in Nigeria, but in recent years, the story has changed,” Musa said.
“I want to assure everyone here that, with your support and the backing of the Board members, I will do everything possible to reposition the club and make it one of the finest not only in Africa but globally.”
According to a statement by the club’s Media and Communications Directorate, Musa said his experience in European football and his knowledge of Nigeria’s local league would help the club achieve great success.
He called for unity among players, management, supporters, and partners. He said the club must be run with planning, hard work, and cooperation to grow.
His appointment as General Manager by Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf is part of the state government’s effort to bring new life to Kano Pillars and run it in line with international standards.
Musa, who once played for top European clubs like Leicester City and CSKA Moscow, is expected to lead a new chapter of professionalism and ambition for the four-time Nigerian league champions.
