However, Musa blamed his side’s missed chances for the 4-2 defeat to the Catalan outfit.

“We had a good game and I’m happy to score twice tonight but In think we could have done more.” Musa told Leicester City website after the game.

He added:  “We lost the game, but we played well. As you saw in the second half, we came in stronger and could have levelled scores,  but we missed some chances,”

The former CSKA Moscow winger struck his second goal in the 66 minute when Jeffrey Schlupp won possession high up the pitch before playing the 23-year-old clear on goal. Musa who drilled his shot high into the Barcelona net will hope he can continue in that rich form this weekend in the Community Shield against Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Leicester City captain Wes Morgan was full of praise for Musa after the match.

Speaking with fotbolltransfers.com, Morgan said: “He was amazing. He showed exactly what he is capable of.

“I’m sure that the fans and everyone who saw the game will be eager to see more.

“And I am convinced that there will be more…”
