In a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, the 32-year-old said: “After a close contact, I’ve been self-isolating and the latest test I took was positive for Covid-19.
“I had some symptoms and I’m following doctor’s orders for recovery. Take care, everyone!”

Aguero has missed a number of matches for Pep Guardiola’s resurging City team, including games against Birmingham, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.
His season was plighted from the start, having only started just three matches this season after undergoing knee surgery in June. The injury kept him out for the tale part of last season.
He joins the likes of Kyle Walker, Gabriel Jesus, Ederson and Ferran Torres on the list of those who have been forced to isolate as a result of the virus in recent weeks.
