A recent incident involving Nollywood actors Zubby Michael and Godwin Nnadiekwe on a movie set has drawn public attention, prompting intervention by the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
The controversy arose after a video surfaced showing Zubby Michael allegedly kicking Godwin Nnadiekwe in the chest during filming, leading to serious health complications for the latter.
In a development shared online, Nollywood producer, Stanley Ontop, expressed dismay over the situation and confirmed that the AGN had reached out regarding the matter.
According to him, AGN President Emeka Rollas assured that the issue would be thoroughly addressed.
“I want to appreciate the president of Actors Guild Of Nigeria (AGN) sir Emeka Rollas emekarollas for calling me this morning; asking for the actors phone number, producer’s phone number, Director’s phone number and hospital name….He gave me the assurance that this matter will be handled properly. They are investigating the matter as we speak (AGN)…. Let’s wait and see AGN reaction to this video. All actors should be careful on set biko because you don’t know who is alive. No actor deserve such act from his fellow actor. AGN president pls this should be addressed properly to avert future occurrence. Get well soon bro @godwin_nnadiekwe,” Stanley said.
Reports indicate that Godwin Nnadiekwe was hospitalised following the incident, with his management confirming he suffered internal bleeding.
The statement released by his team corroborated the physical altercation and shared updates on his current medical condition.
The AGN’s intervention underscores growing concerns about safety and professional conduct on set, with calls mounting for proper regulation and accountability within the industry.
