Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D actor Vachik Mangassarian dies aged 78

Actor Vachik Mangassarian, best known for starring in Marvelโ€™s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D is dead.

He died at the age of 78.

According to his reps, he died of Covid-19 complications in Burbank, California, they told Deadline.

Born in Iran of Armenian descent in 1943, Mangassarian moved to the US in the 1960s.

Mangassarianโ€™s first Hollywood role was in 1978 in The Southโ€™s Shark and he went on to appear in various TV series before landing a role in 2008 film The Stoning of Soraya M.

He would later feature in Marvelโ€™s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D in 2013, as Qasim Zaghlul, an internationally renowned architect and one of the guests at Ian Quinnโ€™s party in Malta in the popular series.

Mangassarianโ€™s final role was in NCIS: Los Angeles in 2019.

Heโ€™s survived by his sisters, Linda Lalaian and Elda Hacopian.

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D starred Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson alongside Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge.
