American rapper Cardi B has filed for divorce from her husband Offset a second time
The news came after ongoing rumours of Offset’s infidelity, as confirmed by Cardi B’s representative.
The representative stated, “Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset. She is seeking primary custody of their children.” The representative did not provide further details about the filing.
A source close to the situation revealed to Page Six, “They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else. This is something she wants to do.” The source added that the recent cheating rumors were not the main reason for the divorce.
Cardi B and Offset, who married in September 2017, have had a rocky relationship with multiple separations. Cardi B first filed for divorce in September 2020 but later reconciled with Offset. Despite their efforts to mend their relationship, they have now decided to part ways again.
The source mentioned, “It’s not something that happened overnight. They’ve both been on the same page. There wasn’t any pushback. They’ve grown apart and that feeling has gotten stronger over time. It’s become unavoidable.”
Cardi B, 31, and Offset, 32, share two children: a daughter named Kulture, 5, and a son named Wave, 2. The rapper’s main focus is on securing primary custody of their children. There have been rumors that Cardi might be expecting a third child, but she has not confirmed this.
The couple had recently appeared to work on their marriage, including spending time together at a New York Knicks game in April and celebrating Mother’s Day in May. However, the latest decision reflects Cardi B’s desire to move forward.
