75-year-old foremost actor and award-winning producer, Robert De Niro, has separated from his wife, Grace Hightower, after over 20 years of marriage.
According to PEOPLE, a source close to the family said they are living apart.
The 75-year-old veteran director whose body of work includes numerous films that are considered to be one of the greatest and most influential worldwide, married Hightower, 63, after dating for a decade.
They have two children together, 20-year-old son Elliott and 6-year-old daughter Helen Grace.

This isn’t the first time the two have separated. De Niro filed for divorce in 1999 and engaged into a custody dispute over their son.
The pair eventually smoothed things over and the divorce was never finalized.
In November 2004, the two renewed their vows in front of an A-list crowd such as Martin Scorsese, Meryl Streep, Ben Stiller, Tom Brokaw and others.
Hightower is De Niro’s second wife. He was married to actress Diahnne Abbott from 1976 to 1988, and they have two children.

The star also has two children with his former girlfriend, Toukie Smith.
