AFCON: Super Eagles focused on clash with Cote d’Ivoire, says Chukwueze

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze has emphasized the Super Eagles’ unwavering concentration on their impending showdown with the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire. 

Jose Peseiro’s squad is slated to face the hosts at the Alassane Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, this Sunday.

The Super Eagles secured their berth in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations following a tense 4-2 penalty shootout victory against South Africa.

Reflecting on the upcoming match, Chukwueze conveyed, “We are trying to recover and focus on the game on Sunday, the final against the host country”.

He expressed confidence in the team’s abilities, stating, “I believe in this team, we have been fighting from the start of the competition, it’s time to bring the trophy back home.”

Chukwueze, speaking to Super Eagles media, added, “We have talked together as a group, we will keep working hard in training and ensure we will the trophy.”
