The goalkeeper for the Super Eagles, Stanley Nwabali, will take his position between the sticks when Nigeria confronts Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final match on Friday evening.

Nwabali’s participation was uncertain following a knee injury he sustained during Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Cameroon in the round of 16 clash last Saturday.

However, Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro has demonstrated confidence in his starting lineup from the previous match against Cameroon and anticipates a favorable outcome against Angola.

Peseiro is set to maintain the 3-4-3 formation, with William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, and Calvin Bassey providing defensive cover for Nwabali. Ola Aina and Zaidu Sanusi will operate on the right and left flanks, respectively.

In midfield, Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka will hold the central positions, while Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Moses Simon will lead the attacking charge.

The quarter-final showdown is scheduled to take place at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, with kickoff set for 6 pm.
