Terem Moffi has been called up to fill the void left by the injured Victor Boniface in Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Boniface, unfortunately, had to withdraw from the competition after suffering a groin injury during a training session.

The setback is significant for Bayer Leverkusen, as Boniface, a key player, is expected to be sidelined for approximately six weeks. To receive the necessary treatment for his injury, the 23-year-old will now travel back to Germany.

In a surprising turn of events, Terem Moffi, who initially missed out on a spot in the final squad, has been given the opportunity to represent Nigeria.

However, the decision is contingent upon approval from the Confederation of African Football and his French club in Ligue 1, OGC Nice.
