Published

The Super Eagles, clad in traditional African attire, have embarked on their journey to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Departing from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Wednesday morning, the players and officials had previously arrived in Lagos from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday.

Under the guidance of coach Jose Peseiro, the team spent a week in Abu Dhabi honing their strategies for the AFCON.

A send-forth dinner hosted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu took place on Tuesday night to bid them farewell.

During their campaign in Abidjan, the three-time African champions will be headquartered at the Pullman Hotel.

Their inaugural match is scheduled against Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, on Sunday.
