The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations jersey numbers have been unveiled for the Super Eagles squad, revealing notable decisions and changes.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has maintained his position with the revered number 9 shirt, emphasizing his pivotal role as the team’s primary forward. Joe Aribo will proudly sport the iconic number 10 jersey, while captain Ahmed Musa has opted to remain synonymous with his renowned number seven.
Newcomer Alhassan Yusuf has been assigned the jersey number 4, a mantle previously held by Wilfred Ndidi, the player he succeeded in the squad. Midfielder Alex Iwobi has made a switch from number 18 to 17, while Samuel Chukwueze has retained his number 11 shirt.
In their 20th appearance at the AFCON finals, Jose Peseiro’s side finds itself in Group A alongside hosts Cote d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea.
