Andre Onana has returned to the starting lineup for Cameroon as they face Senegal this evening.

The match unfolds in Group C, where Cameroon, having drawn their first game against 10-man Guinea, is under immense pressure to secure a positive result.

Defeat in this crucial encounter would elevate the stakes, forcing Cameroon to win their final game against Gambia or risk near-certain elimination from the group stage.

Onana’s absence in the initial draw with Guinea stemmed from a diverted flight, a consequence of his commitment to Manchester United’s matches against Wigan and Tottenham.

Despite his efforts to join the squad in the Ivory Coast, the delayed arrival raises questions about the impact on tonight’s outcome and the decision-making process.

The dramatic turn of events began with Onana’s last-minute dash, covering a 5,000-mile journey after featuring in Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham.

In the absence of Onana, Fabrice Ondoa, representing Ligue 2 side Nimes, deputized in the opening match and is now on the bench for this crucial clash.

Cameroon’s lineup also includes former Fulham player Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, ex-Tottenham winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, and the goal-scoring prowess of Frank Magri.

On the opposing side, Senegal, the defending champions, enter the game with confidence after a resounding 3-0 victory over Gambia in their tournament opener.

Newly-wed Sadio Mane once again takes the lead for Senegal, aiming to extend his stellar performance. Noteworthy players in the Senegal lineup include former Chelsea duo Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly, who start, while current Chelsea player Nicolas Jackson finds himself on the bench.
