Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana faced a turbulent situation as he joined Cameroon’s squad for the 2023 African Cup of Nations opener.

However, despite winning the race against time, he found himself unexpectedly left out of the squad, leading to a heated exchange captured in pre-match footage.

According to Daily Mail, former Senegal star El Hadji Diouf reportedly intervened to calm Onana down during this emotional moment.

In the footage, Onana was seen engaged in a discussion with Diouf, and reports suggest that the former Senegal international had to step in to diffuse the situation.

According to witnesses, Onana shouted in frustration, questioning the purpose of his private jet journey, stating, “If I wasn’t going to play or make the team, then why did I come here on a private jet?”

The intense emotions stemmed from Onana’s commitment, as he had played in Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham at Old Trafford just the day before.

Despite the tight schedule, Onana immediately departed for Liverpool John Lennon Airport to catch a late evening flight to Ivory Coast.
