AFCON 2023: E’Guinea force Super Eagles to 1-1 draw
The opening match of the Super Eagles against Equatorial Guinea at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations clash on Sunday ended with a 1-1 draw at Cote d’Ivoire’s Olympic Stadium
The match’s first goal was established when Ivan Salvador netted a goal for Equatorial Guinea in the 36th minute.
Nevertheless, the Super Eagles responded swiftly as Victor Osimhen brilliantly headed the ball into the net just two minutes later, leveling the score.
Despite both teams putting in a spirited effort in the second half, neither managed to find the back of the net, resulting in a shared point for each side.
As the Super Eagles turn their attention to their next fixture, they are set to face the host nation in a challenging encounter scheduled for Thursday.
