Spanish football League regulating body, La Liga, joined football fans on Wednesday to shower encomium on Super Eagles and Villarreal player Samuel Chukwueze over his performance for Nigeria against South Africa in the AFCOn 2019 quarter-final.
Chukwueze’s first-half goal and Troost-Ekong’s late minute goal secured a 2-1 victory for Nigeria against their agelong rival to progress to the semi-final of the tournament.
Chukwueze’s goal which broke the deadlock received applauds from Nigerians and football fans across the world.
Joining in the showers of accolades for the Villareal star, La Liga took to its verified handle dedicated to its English speaking fans @LaLigaEN and tweeted:

WuzupNaija reports that a few months ago while announcing Super Falcons player Asisat Oshoala’s new deal with Barcelona, the handle had adopted Nigerian slang “Omo beta gbe body” which sparked reactions among Nigerians on Twitter.
As expected the latest tweet on Chukwueze has also evoked reactions from Nigerians on Twitter commending La Liga for identifying with Nigeria and the Super Eagles.
