Adviser to Iran’s supreme leader dies from coronavirus

An adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, 71-year-old Seyyed Mohammad Mirmohammadi, has died after contracting the deadly Coronavirus.

Seyyed, a member of Iran’s Expediency died at a Tehran hospital Monday morning, according to Iranian state radio and is the first top member of Iran’s government to succumb to the illness which is affecting members of the Islamic Republic’s leadership.

There are now 89,248 cases of Coronavirus worldwide with 3058 deaths recorded.
