Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election following his victory in Saturday’s governorship poll.

According to Vanguard, Adeleke made the declaration while delivering his victory remarks on Sunday, during which he thanked the President for supporting what he described as a free and fair election in Osun State.

“At this point, I must deeply appreciate Mr. President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his strong support for a free and fair election,” Adeleke said.

The governor said his support for Tinubu was not new, stressing that he was standing by his previous endorsement of the President ahead of the 2027 election.

Adeleke backs Tinubu for second term

“Mr. President is a son of our state, and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” Adeleke said.

His declaration came shortly after Tinubu congratulated him on securing another four-year mandate in Osun.

Adeleke had earlier disclosed that the President personally called him following his victory, a gesture he praised while thanking Tinubu for allowing the democratic process to run its course.

The governor also promised to use his renewed mandate to pursue development under his five-point agenda, with particular attention to transforming Osun from a state heavily dependent on the civil service into an industrial economy.

Adeleke’s latest declaration reinforces the political support he had previously expressed for Tinubu despite belonging to a different political party.
