Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has described his elder brother, Adedeji Adeleke, as both a trusted adviser and a father figure whose guidance has continued to shape his political career.

The governor made the disclosure while speaking about his family and the bond among the Adeleke siblings during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

Adeleke explained that his relationship with Adedeji extends beyond the ordinary bond shared by brothers, stressing that he often relies on his elder brother’s wealth of experience and counsel when confronted with significant decisions.

He noted that Adedeji has been instrumental in offering direction as he carries out the responsibilities associated with public office and political leadership.

Reflecting on the death of his father, the governor said he continues to miss him but draws some consolation from the close resemblance and relationship he has with his elder brother.

“He behaves like my dad. When I see him, I see my dad; he is like a father figure, and God has really blessed him with wisdom,” he said.

“I call him my adviser without portfolio,” he added.

The Adeleke family continues to play a notable role in Osun politics, with the governor having previously recognised the contributions and support of his siblings to his political career.

Adedeji Adeleke is the father of Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
